Frequently Asked Questions ?

Live Action Games

  • What is a Live Action Escape Game?

Also referred to as a puzzle room, this is a game where you and your friends are in a room and you have 60 minutes to solve the clues and puzzles to complete your mission and escape the room.

  • Will our group be paired with strangers?

Heck no! Rest assured that when you play at Breakout, it will be a private booking every time and we won't even charge you for the spots that you aren't using! As soon as a booking is made it closes off and becomes private regardless of the number of people booked into the game. For this reason, if you wish to increase the number of people in your group, you must contact us by phone or email to do this.

It is our motto that the Customer Experience Always Comes First!

Beware, as we are the only escape room in town that offers this type of booking system. Other escape rooms will require you to purchase all the tickets in a game to prevent them from adding others to your game or they will require you to pay a minimum group fee to book or to close the room to others players.

  • How much does it cost?

The cost per person is $25.00 plus taxes. On Wednesdays we offer a 20% discount to help you get over those Hump-Day blues.

  • What makes Breakout Escape Games unique?

Unlike most of the other Escape Games in Saskatoon, Breakout's game are truly unique. We actually create all of our own games instead of just buying a pre-made 'canned' experience. This allows us to adapt our games to suit our customers and give them the best experience possible. We craft our games in such a way so that we have a variety of difficulty levels available as well as both puzzle orientated games and task orientated games. Truly something for every player! We also change our games on a regular basis so that you can continue to come back to Breakout and play a new experience every time.

We are very passionate about what we do which is why Breakout often has an actual owner on site instead of just a manager. There is no place we would rather be than with our guests!

Unlike other companies who claim to be local, we actually are. Everything in our games are either built locally or sourced locally. Playing at Breakout is supporting a locally owned business which in turn supports our community and economy ( as opposed to those with owners outside the province).

  • What is the cost?

The cost is $25 per player plus GST. However, We do offer discount Wednesday's, 20% off all Wednesday bookings - NO Promo Code Required!! That means $20 plus GST per player!

  • Do you have age restrictions for players?

We recommend ages 10 and up.. Please note that all players under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian accompany them in the room. We will ONLY allow players under the age of 10 in our rooms on SUNDAYS ONLY for Family Fun Sunday (must parent supervision). We will not allow anyone under the age of 5 on Sundays.

  • What is Family Fun Sunday?

Unfortunately not all families get to play due to our policy of only allowing players ages 10 & up. So to make it easier for families to spend some quality time together BreakOut Escape Rooms has FAMILY FUN SUNDAY! For Sunday's ONLY, We will allow players ages 5 & up in any one of our games!

However, this is for families only, as we not equipped to handle large groups of young players.

  • Are we really locked in?

Yes and No! We can not legally (or safely) lock you in any of our rooms. Some of our rooms are locked but you can leave at any time through an unlocked escape door. (Our rooms are also monitored by CCTV and you will be in contact with us at all times).

  • Is this scary?

Not at all. The games are designed to be challenging and fun. None of our games have total darkness, or things jumping out to startle or scare you.

  • Are tickets refundable or transferable?

This is a live event so once the booking has been confirmed no refunds or exchanges will be issued. However, tickets can be transferred to other players.

  • Why can’t I take my phone and/or purse into the room?

You will be given your own compartment to lock up your phone, purse or any other valuables that you brought with you. The only thing going into the room is you and your wits. The best part of a room escape is it forces you to disconnect from the outside world. If you need to be reached in the event of an emergency (such as a babysitter), they can call our main number and we will contact you in the game.

  • What if I can’t solve the puzzles in the game?

The point of the game is to have fun! If you get stuck on a puzzle you will be given a limited number of ‘hints’ so use them wisely.

  • Are you Wheelchair accessible?

We regret to say no. At this time we are not wheelchair accessible as we are on the second floor of an older building that does not have an elevator. Therefore there is no access for people in wheelchairs. We do welcome players with walkers and crutches as long as they are able to climb the stairs. Please note that if you have mobility issues, we recommend that you contact us to discuss which game would best fit your needs.

  • What time should I arrive?

You should arrive 15-10 minutes before your scheduled game time. If you show up late, the time will be taken off your game time in the room. If you are more than 10 minutes past your scheduled start time you will not be allowed into the game. If the rest of your team has already started the game you will not be permitted to join the game. Once the door is locked it will not be reopened (except for emergencies). NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES WILL BE GIVEN

Our rooms are various sizes which dictates how many can comfortably participate in each room. We have recommended min and max group sizes for each room.
